Texas Wasatch Development (TWD) is an information technology consulting firm, headquartered in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.  We focus on helping large companies architect and implement business intelligence systems that make them more competitive and profitable.  Founded in 2003, we have worked with a broad range of industries, including law enforcement, waste management, local government and manufacturing.

TWD is a member of Texas Wasatch Group, a leading group of companies with investments in the financial services and private equity industries.  The group is led by CEO Mark E. Jones, a former senior partner of Bain & Company, the global management consulting firm.  He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (finance, accounting and economics) from the University of Alberta and an MBA from Harvard Business School.  TWD is led on a day-to-day basis by Managing Director, Doug Jones.  Doug graduated from DeVry Institute in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.  He has spent the last 11 years helping middle market and large companies develop and implement world-class data warehousing and business intelligence solutions.

Solutions
Specialist

Duties:  Interface directly with clients to assist BI Architect in gathering requirements for specific Business Intelligence deliverables, including needs analysis, systems architecture and design documents.  Design and deliver SQL-based reports and OLAP cubes to internet / intranet portal using Business Intelligence development tools.  Test reports and OLAP cubes for accuracy against source data.  Create additional content to be added to Balanced Scorecards using a combination of all Business Intelligence tools owned by each client. 

Employees are required to write a minimum of 1 Cognos certification exam every 3 months and will be expected to certify at the advanced user level with the following Business Intelligence tools:

  • Cognos ReportNet,
  • Cognos Transformer, and
  • Cognos PowerPlay Web Reporting.

Assist clients in user acceptance testing and knowledge transfer.  Will also be expected to share knowledge with other team members to gain personal experience, strengthen team members and contribute to the company's development methodology.

  Requirements:  Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or Computer Science or Technology Friendly Business degree.  Academic record should demonstrate a minimum GPA of 3.5.

Business
Intelligence
Architect

Duties:  Perform systems analysis to define business needs and align Cognos technology with client needs, including: gap analysis, database/data warehouse design, process flow analysis and facilitated workshops with executive team.  Administer complex Cognos data warehousing solutions, including: operational data stores, conformed dimension design, and star schema data marts.  Design complex Cognos business intelligence solutions that include the following components: OLAP analysis, balanced scorecards, SQL-based reporting, data visualization, event based notifications and LDAP security.  Manage all solution implementations and serve as liaison between clients and solutions delivery team.  Serve in advisory role to consulting teams implementing business intelligence/data warehouse solutions (hired by independent consulting firms).  Establish and manage corporate partnerships internationally both in the public and private sector.  Implement full corporate performance management systems.  Implement production data warehouse using the Kimball methodology of conformed dimensions and data warehouse design methodology.  Hire and mentor new employees. 
  Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, or Computer Science and 5 years experience in job offered or 5 years related experience managing the business analysis, design, development and successful implementation of full corporate performance management systems, production data warehouses using the Kimball methodology, and business intelligence solutions that include: data warehouse design and implementation, OLAP analysis, balanced scorecards, SQL-based reporting, data visualization, event based notifications and LDAP security.  Requires Product Professional certification in Cognos DecisionStream, Cognos Impromptu, Cognos Impromptu Web Reports, Cognos PowerPlay, Cognos Access Manager; and Product User certification in Cognos ReportNet.
